{"id":21434,"date":"2024-11-16T23:17:58","date_gmt":"2024-11-16T22:17:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vegaconsultants.no\/jobbsoker\/ledige-stillinger\/materials-and-corrosion-engineer-3003901\/"},"modified":"2024-11-16T23:17:58","modified_gmt":"2024-11-16T22:17:58","slug":"materials-and-corrosion-engineer-3003901","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/vegaconsultants.no\/en\/jobbsoker\/ledige-stillinger\/materials-and-corrosion-engineer-3003901\/","title":{"rendered":"Materials and Corrosion Engineer"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class='vacancy-detail'>\n<div class='bold'>Vega Consultants AS<\/div>\n<div class='bold'>Materials and Corrosion Engineer<\/div>\n<div class='vacancy-body'>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Title<\/strong>: Material and Corrosion Engineer<\/li>\n<li><strong>Location<\/strong>: Stavanger<\/li>\n<li><strong>Duration<\/strong>: Dec 2024 \u2013 Dec 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Introduction<\/h3>\n<p>On behalf of a client, we are looking for a Material and Corrosion Engineer to assist with professional expertise in material selection for drilling and well equipment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3>Areas of responsibility<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide technical advice and recommendations on material selection for well construction (D&amp;W).<\/li>\n<li>Perform error analysis and provide input into specifications and evaluation of supplier offers.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with suppliers and production facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Review and approve supplier quality plans, develop inspection and test plans as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Visit supplier sites and perform necessary QA activities.<\/li>\n<li>Review and approve supplier documentation and material certification.<\/li>\n<li>Identify material deviations from current requirements, evaluate and develop solutions to any deviations.<\/li>\n<li>Provide training to drilling and completion engineers to increase their understanding of material selection criteria.<\/li>\n<li>Define test and evaluation requirements for materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3>Qualifications<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in relevant field (metallurgy, materials technology, welding, corrosion evaluations, surface treatment and coatings).<\/li>\n<li>Extensive knowledge of material specifications, metalworking and heat treatment.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of failures caused by stress and corrosion mechanisms.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of surface treatment and protective surface coatings.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of relevant standards and specifications used in the North Sea.<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to deliver quality work within project plans.<\/li>\n<li>Be systematic and precise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>This is a 2-year assignment, and the client wants to start as soon as possible.
