{"id":21789,"date":"2025-06-27T08:17:38","date_gmt":"2025-06-27T06:17:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vegaconsultants.no\/jobbsoker\/ledige-stillinger\/material-handling-engineer-mechanical-3004231\/"},"modified":"2025-06-27T08:17:38","modified_gmt":"2025-06-27T06:17:38","slug":"material-handling-engineer-mechanical-3004231","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/vegaconsultants.no\/en\/jobbsoker\/ledige-stillinger\/material-handling-engineer-mechanical-3004231\/","title":{"rendered":"Material Handling Engineer \u2013 Mechanical"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class='vacancy-detail'>\n<div class='bold'>Vega Consultants AS<\/div>\n<div class='bold'>Material Handling Engineer \u2013 Mechanical<\/div>\n<div class='vacancy-body'>\n<p><strong>Stavanger<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Period <\/strong>:01.08.2025 \u2013 31.12.2027<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and optimize material handling systems (manual and automated), including conveyors, storage systems, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), cranes, and packaging stations.<\/li>\n<li>Develop layouts and detailed engineering drawings using CAD tools.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze workflows and logistics data to improve material flow, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance productivity.<\/li>\n<li>Specify and evaluate material handling equipment and vendors based on performance, cost, and safety.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, procurement, logistics, and maintenance.<\/li>\n<li>Lead or support the implementation of material handling projects, from concept through commissioning.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and internal standards.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare cost estimates, project schedules, and risk assessments for proposed systems.<\/li>\n<li>Support the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct root cause analysis and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to material handling performance.<\/li>\n<li>Create detailed material handling reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Key Deliverables<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Detailed material flow and equipment layout designs<\/li>\n<li>Equipment specifications and procurement packages<\/li>\n<li>Technical reports and cost\/benefit analyses<\/li>\n<li>Implementation plans and commissioning documentation<\/li>\n<li>Updated SOPs and maintenance guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Project status reports and risk assessments<\/li>\n<li>Operational improvement metrics (eg, throughput, downtime reduction)<\/li>\n<li>Material handling reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#039;s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, or a related field<\/li>\n<li>Extensive relevant work experience can compensate for lack of formal education.<\/li>\n<li>Min 3 years of experience in material handling system design and implementation<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Danish legislation and offshore regulations is an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with DNV standards is highly valued, but not an absolute requirement.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with EPC and EPCIC project models and supplier follow-up across engineering and execution phases.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines and vendors.<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Danish language skills are a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor&#039;s or master&#039;s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.<\/li>\n<li>Extensive relevant work experience can compensate for lack of formal education.<\/li>\n<li>Min 3 years of experience as material handling engineer within energy or oil &amp; gas projects<\/li>\n<li>MS OFFICE (typical Excel, Word)<\/li>\n<li>3D modeling\/CAD<\/li>\n<li>English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Does this sound like something for you?
