The team operates across multiple European locations (Stavanger, Oslo, Rotterdam, Mechelen) in close collaboration with an offshore delivery team (Bangalore). The delivery model combines in-house expertise with outsourced accounting activities. We are seeking a Principal Accounting Consultant to strengthen the team with an experienced, independent professional who can take ownership of accounting deliverables, ensure quality across the delivery chain, and handle complex accounting topics. <\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Description about tasks and responsibilities <\/strong>\t<\/h3>\n<p><em>Objective of the Assignment The primary objective is to ensure additional high-quality financial close and reporting capacity, while strengthening control, improving processes, and acting as a knowledgeable counterpart in a hybrid (internal + outsourced) accounting model.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Scope of Work<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The consultant is expected to operate independently and take responsibility across both execution and oversight. <strong>1. Financial Close &amp; Reporting <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Execute and oversee day-to-day accounting activities&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and analyze financial reporting, including variance analysis and tax calculations&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Support preparation of annual financial statements and statutory reporting <strong>2. Entity Ownership &amp; Control<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Take ownership of the accounting for one or more legal entities&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality of financials<\/li>\n<li>Perform balance sheet reconciliations (including sub-ledgers, intercompany, and suspense accounts)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Conduct accounting risk assessments and ensure proper documentation <strong>3. Technical Accounting <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Analyze and resolve non-standard or complex accounting transactions&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Prepare clear and well-documented accounting memoranda&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Apply and document accounting treatment under IFRS and Norwegian GAAP <strong>4. Oversight of Outsourced Delivery<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with Accenture on standard accounting activities&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Review, challenge, and quality assure outsourced work&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure alignment between onshore and offshore activities <strong>5. Stakeholder Interaction <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Explain financial results and resolve open accounting issues<\/li>\n<li>Support internal and external audits <strong>6.
