The consultant will work as an integrated member of the Subsurface Data Management team, with priorities and tasks connected to the subsurface data.<\/p>\n<p>The primary purpose of the assignment is to support and maintain a trusted, structured and quality-controlled foundation for field interpreted subsurface data generated by Geoscience &amp; Geophysics (G&amp;G) disciplines. In addition, the consultant shall contribute to day-to-day subsurface data management, including data discovery, loading, quality control, organization, documentation, user support and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3>Main tasks:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify, collect, structure and curate relevant field interpreted G&amp;G data and associated contextual information in designated Petrel Studio databases.<\/li>\n<li>Review and improve Petrel Studio folder structures to support controlled storage, metadata capture, access and reuse.<\/li>\n<li>Perform data quality control covering completeness, consistency, validity, duplication and conformity with agreed standards.<\/li>\n<li>Apply agreed naming conventions, metadata requirements, classification principles and data management standards.<\/li>\n<li>Establish and preserve data lineage, provenance, ownership, status and relevant interpretation context.<\/li>\n<li>Support identification and documentation of data and prepare selected data for subsequent release and ingestion into OSDU.<\/li>\n<li>Support data discovery, receipt, loading, validation, organization, retrieval, transfer and delivery across relevant repositories and applications.<\/li>\n<li>Provide operational support to business with relevant users, investigate data issues, coordinate corrective actions and contribute to continuous improvement of workflows and standards.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with G&amp;G disciplines, Subsurface Data Management, the Subsurface Curated Database (SCD) project (OSDU preparation), digital and technical teams, and relevant external data providers or partners.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3>Qualifications:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Relevant higher education in geology, geophysics, subsurface data management, or an equivalent discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated hands-on experience with subsurface data management and G&amp;G interpretation data in the exploration and production domain.<\/li>\n<li>Strong practical experience with Petrel and Petrel Studio, including database structures, data loading, extraction, consolidation, validation and troubleshooting.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with interpreted subsurface data such as horizons, faults, surfaces, well picks, velocity data and geological or reservoir models.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in data quality control, metadata management, naming standards, master and reference data, data lineage and lifecycle management.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of OSDU concepts, data models and preparation of subsurface data for standardized, cloud-based consumption is preferred.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently within an integrated team, manage changing priorities, document work clearly and engage effectively with domain specialists, users and technical teams.<\/li>\n<li>Professional proficiency in English; Norwegian language capability is beneficial.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Contract period: 02.11.2026 (after agreement)-30.09.2027<\/p>\n<p>Work location: Stavanger<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Could this be your next assignment?
