Subsea Operations Engineer

For an a role at our client, an oil&gas operator, we are currently looking for a Subsea Operations Engineer. The Subsea Operations Engineer is responsible for the operability and operational risk of SPS and SURF systems. This responsibility applies during all project execution stages (detailed design, engineering, fabrication, installation, commissioning and operation). 

The SOE shall ensure that:

  • Design is in compliance with basis of design and functional requirements
  • Engineering is done in accordance with required codes and regulations
  • Operational philosophy, strategy, plans and procedures are clearly defined, 
  • SPS & SURF deliverables are compliant with Operational requirements
  • Ensure package is fully Commissioned (RFCC) and RFOC handed over to Operations in line RFOC

During all execute phases, the SOE will:

  • Provide technical and operational input to SURF and SPS Engineering teams
  • Develop Operational plans, procedures and budgets
  • Participate in design review, risk assessment, HAZID, HAZOP, etc.
  • Ensure that Operations isolation and barrier management requirements are defined, communicated and adhered to
  • Ensure that project LCI meets Operations requirements
  • Ensure that operational experience and learnings from Company are fed back to the alliance. 
  • Drive and Communicate leading performance in terms of Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost

The SOE works in close cooperation with alliance Package Delivery Leads to:

  • Ensure Company specifications, functional requirement and experience is incorporated to design, testing and installation 
  • Facilitate required input and guidelines from Company

The SOE has the mandate to:

  • Make decisions and on behalf of Company within the framework of basis of design, functional requirements and MLC. Decisions outside this framework shall be lifted to the Engineering Manager or Construction Manager.
  • Decline or Approve MoCs, Decisions, Deviation Requests, Non-Conformances or similar from an Operator perspective

With the SOE role, the project ensures that :

  • One person is responsible for the Operation / Operability of SPS & SURF systems
  • The alliance have a single point of contact to use for further integration with the wider Operations / Asset team as required
  • Operations expertise and support is provided effectively to the alliance

Location: Preferrably Stavanger, however Oslo can be an alternative work location.

Contract period: 17.06.24 (after agreement) – 31.05.2027
