Surface Treatment Field Engineer – Offshore Platform

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Surface Treatment Completion Engineer to oversee construction activities of an offshore platform. The Surface Treatment Field Engineer is responsible for overseeing construction activities regarding Surface & Metallization on behalf of the Company, starting at the earliest stages of construction at yard.

Here you will monitor all major aspects of the development, report directly to Construction Site lead on any issues that may impact of HSSEQ, schedule, financials, and team members, while making recommendations on problem-solving solutions. You will be a part of the Project Construction team.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that safe and effective work is carried out on site. Here you will be following up on the quality of installation activities, ensuring operators have the necessary skills, maintain good communication between contractor and company, and participate in site inspections according to the ITP. 
  • Demonstrate HSSEQ leadership by following up on QA/QC routines and procedures, reporting non-compliance, and participating in SJA, Risk Assessment, HAZID, HAZOP or other HSSEQ related reviews when required.
  • Act as expert in your field and assist the project engineer in solving technical problems that arise during project development, as well as assist in interfacing/supporting other departments on Painting and Metallization Systems.
  • Ensure proper documentation practices. This will include reviewing Client’s technical documentation requirements and ensuring an adequate standard, following up MC documentation from subcontractors during the installation period and verifying MC certificates, and ensuring completion of MC dossier for handover.
  • Monitor receipt and storage of materials to ensure traceability and that systems and equipment are protected and preserved through fabrication, installation, and hook-up.
  • Contribute to the Management of Change process and to project risk workshop. 

Required qualifications and characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree, technical college or similar 
  • FROSIO Lev.3 certified or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in oil & gas Industry
  • Knowledge and practice of applicable standards, design, construction, operation 
  • Experience with MC/fielding work, PIMS CMS experience
  • A good communicator who has experience with stakeholder management
  • Strong planning and organisation skills. 
  • Actively promotes a positive team environment, demonstrating shared commitment to the success of the team and the wider project organization 
  • Good knowledge of the English and Norwegian languages (both written and verbal)
