Introduction

Our client, an operator in the oil and gas industry, expects high demand for supply chain management specialists in early 2025.

We are therefore looking for buyers, contract managers, purchasing specialists and others with experience from the oil and gas industry who want to develop their career with a large operator.

Specific tasks will vary depending on the position, but here are examples of what you can expect:

Areas of responsibility

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies that are tailored to the business's needs and category strategies.
  • Lead solicitation processes, including strategic development, bid evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards.
  • Prepare, manage and operationalize contracts, including framework agreements, project-related contracts and call-offs.
  • Ensure contractual compliance, monitor risk and implement risk-based follow-up plans to support strategic objectives.
  • Conduct needs and market analyses in both global and local markets.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective management and communication.
  • Manage the entire contract lifecycle from award to closure, with a focus on minimizing value leakage, ensuring compliance, and promoting security.
  • Drive and implement improvement processes to increase efficiency in purchasing.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

Desired qualifications and experience

  • Relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree; extensive relevant experience may compensate for formal educational requirements.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, contract management or project procurement, preferably in energy, oil or gas.
  • Strong skills in negotiation, interpersonal relations and stakeholder management.
  • Experience with purchasing tools such as Contiki and/or SAP is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated high personal integrity, ethical awareness and commercial mindset.
  • Fluent oral and written communication in Norwegian and English.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Desired additional skills

  • Strategic thinking and ability to manage complex purchasing portfolios.
  • Skilled in developing and leveraging networks across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with compliance in areas such as integrity assessments, human rights assessments and security.
  • Proactive approach to risk management and process improvements.

These are long-term assignments based in Stavanger or Bergen. Specific location depends on the position.
