Project Completion Engineer

Introduction

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Project Completion Engineer (Telecom) for a large oil and gas project. As a member of the commissioning team, you will manage and control completion and commissioning activities related to Telecom systems and networks, including planning, preparation, execution, and handover to Operation/Plant Integrity.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the establishment of a commissioning team that has the competencies and capacity to perform commissioning on the SAS systems.
  • Responsible for writing commissioning procedures on dedicated systems.
  • Issue and maintain commissioning boundary documentation for efficient construction and commissioning schedules.
  • Manage, execute and supervise the performance of commissioning activities, enabling a safe and efficient commissioning execution. Maintaining safe working routines is crucial, and you will be responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out in full compliance with company safety regulations.  
  • Oversee training and development of personnel within the commissioning organisation.
  • Participate in MC verification of equipment and packages in order to obtain Ready for Commissioning status to secure a smooth transfer of Commissioning Packages from Construction to Commissioning.
  • Follow up punch work in the field and punch list documentation and clearance.
  • Ensure that drawings/documents are marked up with changes identified during commissioning and that as-built documentation is updated accordingly by responsible contractor.
  • Share learned experiences from/to other relevant projects and towards the base organisation.
  • Identify and follow up risks and opportunities related to commissioning.
  • Assessment of provisions for commissioning in design.
  • Ensure and maintain a good relationship with contractor and the wider operation.
  • Responsible for handover of the facility to Operation by issuing TAC (Technical Acceptance Certificate) and RFOC (Ready for Operation Certificates).
  • Participate in developing strategies, budget, plans/schedules, procedures, routines, ATS requirements, FAT, UFAT, RISK and work processes for commissioning.
  • Recommend Commissioning SPIR.

 

In this role, you will be working closely with Project Support, Engineering, Construction, Operation, HVAC Electro, the field commissioning team, and the SAS delivery team. 

 

Desired experience, qualifications and abilities.

  • University degree or equivalent in relevant field. 
  • Experience from oil and gas projects on the NCS is necessary. 
  • You are good at stakeholder management, and can easily cooperate with a range of people, teams and third parties. 
  • You enjoying being in a project responsible role, and can handle periodically high workloads. 
  • Ability to drive activities to be completed on schedule.
  • Result and safety oriented.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Norway.

This is a 2-year contract based in Oslo, with some travel required. Desired start-date is October.
