Introduction
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to lead a team in optimizing procurement processes in a technology company. Here you will have the main responsibility for ensuring that Supply Chain in the best possible way contributes to adding value to the company and customers through efficient operations throughout the value chain.
Main tasks
Operational
- Lead the Supply Chain function by setting clear priorities, allocating tasks and coordinating with other departments in a way that ensures both efficient operations and a good working environment.
- Ongoingly relieve the team with daily tasks such as invoice handling, purchasing, preparation of documentation, etc. when needed.
- Ensure compliance with established routines and processes, such as "Project Lifecycle", to maintain quality, predictability and a structured work environment.
- Establish and maintain systematized work schedules, so that periods of high workload are identified early and handled in collaboration with procurement and project managers.
- Ensure that the department's structure, routines and work tools are appropriate and adapted to needs. Represent the department in ERP projects and other interdisciplinary initiatives.
- Contribute to good information flow and understanding of challenges, priorities and needs – both internally in the department and towards management, finance and other relevant stakeholders in the company.
- Identify and implement improvement measures that ensure efficiency, reduce bottlenecks and create better collaboration across functions.
- Ensure clear and structured handling of requests, allowing the team to focus on core tasks without unnecessary interruptions.
Strategic warehouse and inventory optimization
- Ensure an optimal structure of global warehouses that minimizes cost and risk, including customs optimization and tax, but ensures fast shipments.
- Striking an optimal balance between internally managed warehouses and outsourced warehousing.
- Continuously oversee and quality-assured inventory management performed by third parties, including correct entry in the company's ERP system in close collaboration with accounting/controlling
Desired qualifications
- Leadership experience in supply chain management is a requirement.
- Extensive experience with purchasing processes and optimizing them according to corporate strategy, including a minimum of 5 years.
- Experience with international value chains and handling international suppliers.
- Experience with process improvement.
- You are good at communicating with multiple stakeholders and getting people on a team to work towards common goals.
- You have a focus on cost-efficiency and high service.
This is an assignment based in Stavanger with a duration until 2025 in the first instance, and the customer wants an immediate start.
