We are now looking for a Chemical Management Consultant for an exciting role at our client. The department is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of chemicals in the Company's global operations. They work to develop and manage systems and processes for chemical management, ensure compliance with national and international regulations, and provide professional support within health, environment and safety. The work is carried out in close collaboration with various technology environments and operating units, and includes both traditional oil and gas activities and new focus areas such as renewable energy.
The role will involve:
- Actively contribute to the operation and further development of chemicals management in the Company, including maintenance and improvement of management tools to ensure compliance with national and international legislation, as well as internal requirements.
- Propose and develop solutions that balance chemical health hazards and risks with environmental, safety and technical considerations – in close collaboration with relevant HSE and technology environments within, among others, oil and gas processing, surface treatment, insulation, drilling and well treatment, and renewable energy.
- Be a resource on national and international regulations (Norway, Brazil, UK and USA), as well as build and maintain networks with relevant external actors.
- Monitor regulatory developments and build expertise within relevant subject areas and the Company's focus areas, including renewable energy.
- Follow product development and research within green and sustainable chemistry, and communicate opportunities to relevant operating and project environments.
- Challenge and support the business in Brazil, the US and the UK, as well as contribute to new areas of focus.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in chemistry, toxicology or equivalent. 3–5 years of experience in relevant industry is an advantage.
- Good written and oral skills in Norwegian and English
