Buyer

Introduction

On behalf of our client, we are looking for Buyers to support purchasing activities across categories and projects. You will function as an operational buyer, working with purchasing from A-Z. 

Description of tasks and responsibilities

The main task will be to create and follow up on purchase orders, including: 

• Maintain safety, security and sustainability in procurement. 
• Plan the request based on business needs, collaboration, and a commercial mindset. 
• Search the market and select providers. 
• Create and send request. 
• Evaluate bids and conduct negotiations.
• Create and send purchase orders, as well as follow up on them
• Get order confirmation.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Manage changes and/or deviations throughout the Plan to Pay process. 

Other responsibilities:

• Maintain market knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with Supply Chain processes and requirements. 
• Understand the flow of materials and services through the supply chain from plan to payment. 
• Ensure professional services and communication towards both internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Take an active part in helping the customer improve purchasing activities with a view to increased efficiency and digitalization.

Competence requirements 

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or similar is an advantage, but not a requirement. 
• Knowledge of Supply Chain Management and purchasing. 
• You are structured and thrive in a hectic work environment and collaborating with a variety of departments, suppliers and functions.
• You have a commercial mindset and will work to deliver cost-effective services to customers. 
• MS-Office and SAP competence

This is a 1-year assignment based in Stavanger, and the client wants to start soon.
