- Title: Material and Corrosion Engineer

Introduction
On behalf of a client, we are looking for a Material and Corrosion Engineer to assist with professional expertise in material selection for drilling and well equipment.
Areas of responsibility
- Provide technical advice and recommendations on material selection for well construction (D&W).
- Perform error analysis and provide input into specifications and evaluation of supplier offers.
- Collaborate with suppliers and production facilities.
- Review and approve supplier quality plans, develop inspection and test plans as needed.
- Visit supplier sites and perform necessary QA activities.
- Review and approve supplier documentation and material certification.
- Identify material deviations from current requirements, evaluate and develop solutions to any deviations.
- Provide training to drilling and completion engineers to increase their understanding of material selection criteria.
- Define test and evaluation requirements for materials.
Qualifications
- Degree in relevant field (metallurgy, materials technology, welding, corrosion evaluations, surface treatment and coatings).
- Extensive knowledge of material specifications, metalworking and heat treatment.
- Knowledge of failures caused by stress and corrosion mechanisms.
- Understanding of surface treatment and protective surface coatings.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of relevant standards and specifications used in the North Sea.
- Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to deliver quality work within project plans.
- Be systematic and precise.
