Senior Electrical Engineer

Introduction

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a senior electrical engineer with experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical installations. 

This is a 1-year assignment for an operator in the oil and gas industry. 

Main areas of responsibility

• Responsible for the assignment role towards suppliers where they have independent assignments within minor modifications, and coordinate this into the plan.
• Responsible for the facility-specific part of the performance standards within electrical and HVAC.
• Owner of technical documentation within electrical and HVAC.
• Professional support for the operation of electrical systems on the installation/facility

Work tasks

• Support/handle EQs and MOCs from Asset.
• Contributes to the improvement of tools and frameworks associated with minor modifications.
• Have a dialogue and clarify issues of importance to electricity and fire safety with the person responsible for the electrical system.
• In collaboration with the subject manager, ensure job preparation for the subject - including quality-assured work orders (AO).
• Ensure that the right jobs are prioritized into the plan based on criticality and availability.
• Follow up on budget.
• Coordination of plan preparations with others, equipment owners, units and external suppliers.
• Secure pre-construction and completion reports as well as declaration of conformity from the designer and installer.
• Assist operations with engineering expertise
• Participate in verification activities and inspections, and follow up on deviations and improvements
• Verify and approve technical solutions from suppliers
• Understand and deliver business improvements according to LEAN principles
• Participate in relevant networks and technical environments and ensure the transfer of learning where this creates value for the customer

Required qualifications

• Higher education/certificate in electrical engineering. Long-term relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education. 
• This is a senior role, and relevant experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical systems on large buildings or installations, preferably within the oil and gas industry, is required. 
• You have experience with budget management, supplier contact and quality assurance of work. 
• You have a high focus on HSE and have experience in ensuring that HSE practices are followed in the workplace.
