Introduction

On behalf of our client, we are looking for Field Engineer QC (Welding, Surface Treatment) to oversee construction of a utility module for a PWP offshore platform. This is a senior role requiring technical expertise and hands-on experience from the oil and gas industry. 

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Monitor construction for the welding and construction of all Structural and Piping, to ensure good interface with other disciplines.
  • Build and maintain relations to the subcontractor on a long-term basis.
  • Plan and perform monitoring and documentation of the subcontractor’s activities to ensure fulfilment of contractual obligations. 
  • Demonstrate HSSEQ Leadership by actively working towards HSSEQ project goals and emphasizing the importance of safety in all activities.
  • Review technical documentation and requirements and ensure an adequate standard.
  • Follow up contractors’ performance with QC of Welding, surface treatment and other disciplines during the Construction phase. Further follow up through site inspections, including pre-fabrication site, and report all non-compliance/comments to the QA-, audit, and verification plans.
  • Participate in inspection activities according to Inspection and Test plan (ITP) as required.
  • Help ensure that operators have the required skills in their respective trades and continuously follow up on the quality of installation activities.
  • Follow up the MC documentation from contractors and subcontractors during the installation period and assist in verifying MC certificates and Punch items.
  • Monitor receipt and storage of materials to ensure traceability and that systems and equipment are protected and preserved through fabrication and installation. 
  • Participate in SJA, Risk Assessment, HAZID, HAZOP or other HSSEQ related reviews when required.
  • Contribute to the Management of Change process and to project risk workshop. 
  • Actively identify and follow up relevant opportunities, risks, and mitigating actions.

Qualifications

  • Technical experience within QC welding, NDT and Coating is required. It is required that the successful candidate hold valid certifications as required in NORSOK.
  • At least 5 years’ experience following up on oil and gas construction activities onsite. 
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Completion systems, such as PIMS CMS, MIPS etc. is advantageous.
  • Experience conducting audits, risk assessments and similar. 

This is a 2-year contract based in Stavanger, and our client would like the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.
