General description:

  • The insulation QC inspector is a part of the System Integrations team in the Fixed Facilities Alliance (FFA) for the project
  • The role will cooperate with the FFA discipline teams on coating – both package team and yard construction to ensure adherence to standards and specifications. The role will follow quality control for package and yard scope as per ITP.
  • The QC inspector represents the client in the execute phase of the field development, ensuring the client fulfil a consistent and risk based follow-up coating disciplines.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Be an HSSE ambassador. Ensures that HSSE procedures are adhered to, and proactively strive for good HSSE and quality performance throughout the work.
  • Participates in tool-box meetings and Safety Meetings 
  • Proactively assist FFA and relevant sub-contractors in resolving coatings quality related technical issues that may arise during the execution of work scopes at the construction site.
  • Liaises with the Construction Field Engineer/s and ensures that the coating systems are applied and installed as per project design and the clients requirements.
  • Where required, reviews and comments on applicable ITP, attends and verify, and sign off applicable established inspection points on behalf of the client.
  • Seeks for continuous improvement of work processes and products within the coatings responsibility area.
  • Weekly reporting to QC Lead on ongoing activities.
  • Contribute to Lessons Learned, experience transfer and Close Out Report 
  • Progressively reviews relevant documents, reports and records (specifications, procedures, drawings, requirements, test and inspection results, etc.) and promptly formally report on noted discrepancies or deviations. 
  • And working with production teams to resolve the issues related to coating discipline.
  • Ensures that blasting and coatings related test equipment are in proper working order and calibration.
  • Ensures that FFA/sub-contractor coating inspections and surveys are timely conducted at various stages of the construction and erection processes, including incoming materials inspections, and final product inspections. Reviews, attends and where required, signs off applicable tests and inspections and reports, etc.
  • Participates on FFA/sub-contractor scheduled yard Quality Walks and report any observations, where applicable.
  • Follows up and verifies closure of issues (PARs, CARs, NCRs, etc) and any continues improvement initiatives in the yard.

Experience, qualifications and abilities:  

  •  Theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of general construction work and activities. 
  • Knowledge to applicable project documents, industry procedures and guidelines, recommended practices, standards (i.e. Norsok), and specifications. 
  • Proficient in MS Office, experience in use PIMS and Navisworks is an advantage.  

Educational Qualifications:

  •  Relevant Certifications to FROSIO (Level III – Surface Treatment). Experience from work on fabrication of topside structures is an advantage.
  • Relevant experience from similar positions in other oil & gas projects may make up for formal education. 
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience from oil and gas projects.

  • Proactive, service minded, solution oriented and have a non-confrontational manner with co-workers.
  • Strong work ethics.

 

The Verdal yard will be primary work location, however occasional travels might be required.

 Due to the nature of work, both periodic nightshift and weekend work might be required.

 A requirement for the position is fluent English, both written and verbal communication
