Introduction
On behalf of our client, we are looking for Technical Safety Engineers to work on exciting and long-term projects in the oil and gas sector in Stavanger and Oslo. Tasks and responsibilities will vary depending on the position, but here are what some of your tasks you would be working with:
Key Responsibilities
- System Design: Lead system design and optimization, including PIPENET steady-state calculations, P&ID creation, and updates.
- Barrier Management: Ensure compliance with performance standards and manage active and passive fire protection systems, explosion barriers, and escape/evacuation routes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Apply detailed knowledge of national and industry standards (e.g., NORSOK, NFPA 20) to deliver high-quality results.
- Project Execution: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare and execute projects from DG3 to DG4, ensuring cohesive, timely, and high-quality deliverables.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, including HAZID and HAZOP, and provide well-prepared reports, presentations, and proposals to manage and communicate complex risks effectively.
- Interface Responsibility: Act as the point of contact for technical safety within a multidisciplinary project environment, ensuring alignment across teams.
The necessary qualifications and skills will vary depending on the position, but here are some qualifications generally required:
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or another relevant technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in technical safety in the Norwegian oil and gas sector.
- Expertise in firewater pumps, SIL, and automation systems.
- Familiarity with engineering standards and practices such as TR and NORSOK.
- Proficiency in barrier management and performance standards design.
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks like ALARP.
