Commissioning System Responsible Engineer

The Commissioning System Responsible for Utility/Material Handling is responsible for the planning, execution and supervision of Completion and Commissioning activities for designated systems related to the delivery and integration of the Clients platform and is considered the overall commissioning responsible for all material handling systems and commissioning lifting operations on the platform. The System Responsible will also assist in ensuring the Project Team deliver in accordance with the clients BMS and project mandate given by the Asset Management Team

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Contribute in the preparation phase with review and verification of documentation and drawings that are relevant to MC and Commissioning of designated systems.
  • Provide engineering input
  • Estimation and planning of commissioning scope of work onshore and offshore for designated systems, including input to plan.
  • Able to work independently to plan and execute MC follow-up and commissioning activities.
  • Participate in MC punch outs and FATs at supplier sites.
  • Deliver input and update progress into project completion system PIMS.
  • Develop, review, and implementation of commissioning procedures.
  • Coordinate with different departments and disciplines to ensure efficient execution of commissioning with high focus on HSSE.
  • Plan and call off ATS as and when required.
  • Manage assistance personnel from contractors and other resources providing services
  • Ensure spare parts and special tools are available prior to execution of commissioning activities.
  • Plan and ensure first fills are available in timely fashion and perform first fills.
  • Provide leadership to ensure that a high level of focus is maintained on health, safety, and the environment to achieve the Clients’s expectations.
  • Plan and coordinate commissioning assistance and support as required.
  • Participate in discipline MC punch rounds at sites for designated systems.
  • Plan and execute commissioning activities in a timely manner based on Commissioning plan.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from Project to Operations.
  • Participate in pre-start-up
  • Commissioning System Responsible Engineer – Utility/Material Handling will agree goals for his/her performance with the projects Commissioning Manager.

Qualifications

  • BSc. in Engineering or a related field or equivalent education / experience.
  • MSc. in Engineering or a related field or equivalent education / experience.
  • Experience from NORSOK projects.
  • System-based commissioning knowledge and understanding
  • Track record of delivery in the Oil & Gas industry for the Norwegian Continental Shelf and able to demonstrate effective system commissioning skills are a major advantage.
  • Familiarity with Project Completions Systems and document management systems. Experience with PIMS is an advantage.
  • Ability to engage and lead a team of commissioning engineers & technicians to achieve timely execution of commissioning activities.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience

This position is fully mobile with base location onshore office Oslo. Mobilization to construction sites prior to start of Commissioning activities is a requirement.
