Senior Instrument Engineer

Introduction

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Senior Instrument Engineer to serve as an instrument equipment specialist. You will also contribute to the automation discipline. 

Providing engineering support and acting as a discipline expert for Instrument engineering activities that increase equipment reliability and plant uptime, are key tasks in the role. In the project phase, the main tasks will be to prepare for taking over the system and equipment from the project, establishing good handover plans, and carrying out verification of quality against specifications.

Responsibilities include

• Responsible for field instrumentation and field equipment for safety systems
• Technical discipline responsible for barrier functions for instrumented systems
• Operational procedures owner

Typical work tasks can be

• Prepare for taking over equipment from project. Secure necessary tools and frameworks are established for operations phase.
• Secure compliance and continuous improvement of operational procedures.
• Ensure that the established work practices and procedures for offshore work are delivered with the expected quality.
• Contribute to digitalization of operational procedures through the PXO system portal project as required.
• Ensure good cooperation with critical suppliers and contractors. 

Required skills and qualifications

• Education – Bachelor within relevant discipline. Relevant experience can compensate for education. 
• Minimum 7 years’ experience within technical field/discipline in Norwegian oil and gas projects. 
• Knowledge of HVAC equipment is beneficial, but not a requirement. 
• Fluent English and Norwegian, both verbal and written  
• You are a self-starter and able to work independently. 

Our client is looking for two senior engineers, where one position will last 2,5 years, and the other just under 2 years. Both roles can be lead from Stavanger, Oslo or Trondheim.
