Introduction

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced Estimator who will work in a subsea alliance. This is a varied role requiring you to undertake many different tasks and cooperate with a range of colleagues in order to succeed, including cost engineers, planners, project managers, and software teams.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Establish and coordinate the MLC/estimate submission for approval as part of the Project Services team.
  • Provide support to the Risk function within the Alliance to ensure correct level of contingency is promoted within estimates and MLCs.
  • Ensure that MLC/Estimating submissions are fully inclusive of, and integrated with, project schedules
  • Ensure consistency of approach from all partners within the Subsea Alliance estimating function.
  • Coordinate and manage internal cost and schedule reviews alongside Planners and Project Services Manager or Study Manager/Study Leads.
  • Manage, promote, and prepare Alliance estimate and schedule development and benchmarking package to demonstrate competitiveness and best value to all stakeholders.
  • Support delivery of commercial parts of Project MLC documentation.
  • Support development of company-specific database for data capture and benchmarking.
  • Perform Cost Engineering tasks upon request. 

Desired qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • Previous work experience from the oil and gas industry is required.
  • Basic understanding of project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) to ensure estimates are integrated with project schedules.
  • Strong analytical skills to support the Risk function and ensure appropriate levels of contingency in estimates, and assess project schedules.
  • You are commercially inclined and strive to meet project requirements in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate and manage internal cost, and schedule reviews with team members.
  • Fluent English is required, fluent Norwegian is preferable
